Student Festival day is on Thursday 24th of April and there will be a few activities going on in the Hub area.

Create Your Own Blog – 10.30-11.30; 1 - 2; 2-3;

British Sign language – Introduction 10.30-11.30; 11.30-12.30; 1-2; 3-4;

Online Resources – how to make the best use of online resources that the College subscribes to – 10.30-11.00; 12.30-1.30;

Internet Searching – how to find information without wasting time ie using search engines effectively – useful for students doing project work in particular – 10.30-11.00; 2-3

Teach the Teachers how to Teach – an interactive and fun session with students led by Janice O’Shea 11.15-12.00; 3-4.

Pathways – Beauty & The Beast performance by performing arts – 11.00-12.00

Nil by Mouth – 'Nil by Mouth's session aims to raise our understanding and awareness of sectarianism and promote the importance of challenging the problem through education and personal responsibility. The campaign's interactive approach will stimulate lively discussion among participants with a focus on case studies, good practice and resources.' 11.30-12.30; 3-4

Love Music Hate racism – workshop led by Mike Cowley based on the film of this name

Volunteering – Volunteer centre Edinburgh and Project Scotland – 1.30-2.00

Trade Union Congress: employment rights for students working part-time. 2-3

College Accommodation – to give students an opportunity to have a say 2-3

Try out Radio Broadcasting 3-4

Introduction to Photostory: students can learn how to create a ‘story’ complete with special effects, narration and music from their own photos, using free software 3-4

One of the sessions taking place in the Hub is ‘Question Time’. This is where students get the opportunity to ask your local MP and members of staff questions about ‘Green Issues’ – Environmental issues.
